Yihune Lakew is a senior research and evaluation advisor at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs based in Ethiopia and leads two Implementation Research funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) aiming to optimize iron folic acid (IFA) adherence among pregnant women and adolescent girls and enhance antenatal care (ANC) and institutional delivery (ID) in Ethiopia among vulnerable pregnant women. He completed his MSc in population studies and then MSc in applied human nutrition. He has nearly 20 years of experience in public health research, M&E, surveillance, and program coordination. He has led more than 25 large and small-scale studies as principal and co-investigator role and published more than 30 manuscripts in reputable peer reviewed journals. His expertise is mainly on monitoring and evaluation, research and implementation science in public health, causes of death, nutrition and reproductive health, social and behavior change communication, statistical application using STATA and Arc-GIS.
