Collaborative for Research on Women’s Nutrition (CROWN), funded by the Gates Foundation, was born out of the need for collaboration in terms of improving the quality of implementation research across diverse contexts, and facilitating cross-country & cross-setting comparisons.
Implementation evidence is more actionable when it is operationalized to local conditions and culture. At the same time, individual projects and the global community benefit when research tools, learnings, and intervention adaptations are shared across projects and laddered up to inform policies and guidelines. Standardizing measures and assessments also can improve the quality of Implementation Research (IR) across diverse contexts and cross-country and cross-setting comparisons. The Gates Foundation supports nutrition projects across countries, and they focus on identifying strategies that will optimize adherence to nutrition supplements at scale. The CROWN project was therefore created to foster a learning collaborative.
CROWN aims to generate, contribute to, and use knowledge across the CROWN Projects to maximize women’s and children’s nutrition, health, and wellness. CROWN focuses on identifying strategies that will optimize adherence to nutritional supplements at scale.
