Heidi Chow is a second-year Master of Science in Public Health student in the Department of Health, Behavior, and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is working as a Research Assistant for the CROWN Project. She was born and raised in Hong Kong and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Loyola University Maryland.
Previously, Heidi worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she focused on translating research findings into actionable messages. She also engaged in community-academic partnerships with local organizations and schools in Baltimore. During this time, she developed community health service-learning curricula, designed adolescent health-focused case studies, and worked directly with vulnerable youth to improve their literacy skills.
Currently, Heidi’s work focuses on maternal, newborn, and child health initiatives with Samaritan’s Purse in Cambodia. In this role, she implements community-based activities, organizes health education training modules and tools, conducts data collection and analysis, and contributes to project proposal writing.
