Danielle Piccinini Black

Danielle Piccinini Black leads the Human Centered Design component of the CROWN Project. She is the Academic Lead for Innovation and Human-Centered Design at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School—Executive Education, and Design Innovation Lead at the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs. She leads the development and implementation of design thinking research, workshops, and co‐creation internationally to address emerging public health and business needs,and uses that experience to enhance her design thinking courses. Danielle’s recent design thinking projects include designing new mosquito nets for commercial sale in Ghana, as part of the Private Sector Malaria Prevention (PSMP) project, and designing and facilitating remote co-creation workshops in Asia, sub-Saharan African, and the United States to reimagine knowledge management solutions for family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) professionals, as part of Knowledge SUCCESS. Danielle holds an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger and South Africa.
