Dear Friends of the CROWN Project,
We are still buzzing from all of the amazing discussions and collaboration at the 2nd Annual CROWN Convening in Abuja, Nigeria!
I wanted to start with a special thank you to attendees who joined us from the following partner organizations: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Breakthrough ACTION, Centre for Communication and Social Impact, Final Mile Consulting, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins University Center for Communications Programs, Nutrition International, Project Concern International, and Sonder Design. Having such a diverse range of perspectives representing three countries (Ethiopia, India, and of course Nigeria) made this convening all the more special and productive. We are already planning for next year!

2nd CROWN Convening
From February 12-14, three CROWN projects came together in Abuja, Nigeria for three days of learning, sharing, and networking. This year’s convening focused more heavily on in-person participation, and we enjoyed hosting nearly 40 partners from the core projects and other projects working on maternal nutrition and social behavior change across Nigeria.
Over the three days, participants from Ethiopia, Nigeria, and India:
- Presented on learnings from the first year of the projects;
- Engaged in a World Cafe-style discussion;
- Learned about how colleagues are using Human-Centered Design (HCD) to inform their interventions;
- And participated in a CROWN HCD workshop to improve coordination of these global projects.
